Senja di Goyang - Espresso
The Coffee
Senja di Goyang Espresso is the third chapter of our Senja series, following Senja di Bali.
Crafted for espresso lovers, it delivers a solid, balanced body essential for a good espresso base, while offering sweetness and bright fruity nuances.
"Goyang", meaning to dance or to swirl in Bahasa, reflects the blending process, swirling together of two different coffees.
What is an Origin Blend?
While typical blends mix coffees from different countries, our Origin Blend brings together coffees from the same region, which are Pegasing and Bener Meriah, but the villages and processing methods are different.
Each coffee is roasted individually (medium and light) to maximize the potential of each coffee.
The result is a profile that is full-bodied, sweet, and complex, with notes of chocolate, hazelnut, and cherry, and a smooth, lingering finish.
In milk-based drinks, Senja Espresso creates a naturally creamy and sweet cup, making sugar unnecessary.

The First, Hendra Maulizar. He is one of Indonesia’s most respected specialty coffee producers.
Starting with just one hectare in 2010, Hendra has grown to 10 hectares, producing 40 tonnes of coffee annually.
His work at his own processing facilities has led to national recognition, including 7th place at Indonesia’s 2021 Cup of Excellence.
The Second, Enzo Sauqi.
At Central Sumatra Coffee Farm, Enzo leads a young team focused on quality-driven production and innovative post-harvest methods.
From cherry selection to final drying, every detail is handled with care to showcase the best Sumatra has to offer.
The Terroir
Located in Aceh’s Gayo Highlands, Pegasing and Bener Meriah are regions rich in natural beauty and coffee-growing tradition.
High altitudes, fertile volcanic soils, and cool climates produce coffees with dense sweetness, balanced acidity, and deep complexity.
The ancient history of Lamuri Kingdom adds to the rich cultural heritage of the land.

Frequently asked questions
ABout the coffee
Is the coffee freshly roasted?
Yes. We roast our coffee in small batches every week. After roasting, the beans are rested for at least one week before shipping. This allows them to reach optimal freshness and ensures they’re ready to brew when they arrive.
Why do the beans need to rest for one to two weeks after roasting?
After roasting, coffee beans naturally release carbon dioxide in a process called degassing. During this resting period, the flavors continue to develop and stabilize. If the beans are used too soon, the coffee may taste unbalanced and produce excessive gas during brewing, leading to suboptimal extraction. In addition, dialing in becomes inconsistent during this phase, making it more difficult to achieve stable and repeatable results.
When is the optimal time to consume our coffee?
Typically, our coffee performs at its peak between 2 weeks and 3 months after roasting, when the flavors are fully developed and stable.
