The Producer
 
Gravfarm Sukaratu, managed by Yugian and Lucy, members of the Forest Farmer Group, grows exceptional coffee while prioritising gender equality. The group provides training to farmers on various aspects of farming, including forestry, agriculture, waste management, and coffee cultivation and processing. In fact, one of Gravfarm’s coffees recently placed 19th in the prestigious 2021 Indonesia Cup of Excellence competition.
 
Good Morning Lucy is one such coffee, notable not only for its distinctive floral notes and high sweetness, but also for its emphasis on gender equality. The farm values women’s contribution highly, and women play key roles in the cultivation and processing of the coffee. By empowering women and promoting gender equality, Gravfarm is setting an example for sustainable and equitable farming practices.

The Terroir
 
Coffee was first introduced to Java Island in the 1600s. However, until the early 1900s, most of the coffee estate were concentrated in the eastern part of the island, near the Ijen volcano. Today, however, high-quality coffee is also thriving in West Java, revealing new and exciting flavor profiles.
 
One of the regios is Ciwidey, a charming region in the highlands of West Java. Because of its ideal growing conditions and a thriving coffee culture, Ciwidey has become is a paradise for coffee lovers, producing exceptional Arabica beans especially because of their rich aromas.
 
In this region, on the slopes of Mt. Patuha, lies Gravfarm Sukaratu. While West Java is often celebrated for its fruity coffees, it is the distinctive volcanic soil of Mt. Patuha that gives Gravfarm Sukaratu's coffee its elegant floral notes, making it truly one of a kind.
